Welcome to the Gutenberg Editor

Of Mountains & Printing Presses

The goal of this new editor is to make adding rich content to WordPress simple and enjoyable. This whole post is composed of pieces of content—somewhat similar to LEGO bricks—that you can move around and interact with. Move your cursor around and you’ll notice the different blocks light up with outlines and arrows. Press the arrows to reposition blocks quickly, without fearing about losing things in the process of copying and pasting.

What you are reading now is a text block the most basic block of all. The text block has its own controls to be moved freely around the post…

… like this one, which is right aligned.

Headings are separate blocks as well, which helps with the outline and organization of your content.

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

Handling images and media with the utmost care is a primary focus of the new editor. Hopefully, you’ll find aspects of adding captions or going full-width with your pictures much easier and robust than before.

Beautiful landscape
If your theme supports it, you’ll see the “wide” button on the image toolbar. Give it a try.

Try selecting and removing or editing the caption, now you don’t have to be careful about selecting the image or other text by mistake and ruining the presentation.

The Inserter Tool

Imagine everything that WordPress can do is available to you quickly and in the same place on the interface. No need to figure out HTML tags, classes, or remember complicated shortcode syntax. That’s the spirit behind the inserter—the (+) button you’ll see around the editor—which allows you to browse all available content blocks and add them into your post. Plugins and themes are able to register their own, opening up all sort of possibilities for rich editing and publishing.

Go give it a try, you may discover things WordPress can already add into your posts that you didn’t know about. Here’s a short list of what you can currently find there:

  • Text & Headings
  • Images & Videos
  • Galleries
  • Embeds, like YouTube, Tweets, or other WordPress posts.
  • Layout blocks, like Buttons, Hero Images, Separators, etc.
  • And Lists like this one of course 🙂

Visual Editing

A huge benefit of blocks is that you can edit them in place and manipulate your content directly. Instead of having fields for editing things like the source of a quote, or the text of a button, you can directly change the content. Try editing the following quote:

The editor will endeavor to create a new page and post building experience that makes writing rich posts effortless, and has “blocks” to make it easy what today might take shortcodes, custom HTML, or “mystery meat” embed discovery.

Matt Mullenweg, 2017

The information corresponding to the source of the quote is a separate text field, similar to captions under images, so the structure of the quote is protected even if you select, modify, or remove the source. It’s always easy to add it back.

Blocks can be anything you need. For instance, you may want to add a subdued quote as part of the composition of your text, or you may prefer to display a giant stylized one. All of these options are available in the inserter.

You can change the amount of columns in your galleries by dragging a slider in the block inspector in the sidebar.

Media Rich

If you combine the new wide and full-wide alignments with galleries, you can create a very media rich layout, very quickly:

Accessibility is important — don’t forget image alt attribute

Sure, the full-wide image can be pretty big. But sometimes the image is worth it.

The above is a gallery with just two images. It’s an easier way to create visually appealing layouts, without having to deal with floats. You can also easily convert the gallery back to individual images again, by using the block switcher.

Any block can opt into these alignments. The embed block has them also, and is responsive out of the box:

You can build any block you like, static or dynamic, decorative or plain. Here’s a pullquote block:

Code is Poetry

Why fear?

IMG_0537So what do you fear? Don’t tell me nothing. We all fear something and it’s okay to fear, it’s a feeling after all. Ability to feel is what makes us human and separates us from machine. Though it’s a travel blog I always tried to throw light on human behavior, issues and psychology through my travel stories.

People often call me courageous, strong and bold women they know but l do have my own fear. For example writing this blog. It’s been long time l am only thinking to write about my Goa trip experience but not able to start and finish it as I kept thinking how people will react to it? Is it too bold to write about it? Will there be any controversial talks? Am l going to hurt anyone’s feeling through this write-up?  So many questions like these but today l have overcome my fear and hence writing about it.

So here l am trying to put my words together and gathering all the courage that l have to pen down about my experience of Goa “The land of beaches”.IMG_0391We could barely sleep at night due to the excitement on road trip to Goa. Around 25 youngsters on board and everyone was dreaming about what will they do after reaching Goa. We took break at Tarkarli beach to enjoy water sports and enjoyed scuba diving, parasailing and many adventurous rides on tides. Awesome experience!!! Somewhere around 4.00pm after exerting in water we started for Goa from Tarkarli and reached by sundown. As organizer l gave instructions to hotel staff to allocate rooms and started helping everyone. Suddenly a girl came to me when l was standing aside to check whether everyone is settled or not? She was asking me something which l could not hear properly so to help her and listen to what she is saying l went closer to her  instead of shouting from distance and what the f**K!!! what just happened? It took me some time to come out of shock and realize that she grabbed me by my neck and kissed me. Oops… what should l do? What should l say to her? Should l call someone? Well…. l just pushed her away and walked to my room as mind had stopped working. I would have end up slapping if it was done by a guy but since she was girl l did not know how to react.

Everyone was so tired but excited for shack party while l was thinking about the evening shock however l got ready for party and went to shack but yeah so many thoughts were still bothering me. So I called my boyfriend to normalize my situation and told him everything and guess what that idiot must have said “how was the experience?” l felt like punching him on his nose. “Well… well… well… l am pretty much straight” I said to him. “Then why are you pissed off anyway this is not the first time some girl have tried to hit on you” he said. Which made me think about my previous experience. The girl was from my first job and she never kissed me or even touch me that way but she tried to be good friend to me, impress me, used to gifts me stuffs like how guys do when they are interested in a girl. Her that behavior never made me feel awkward, uncomfortable or disturbed. I never even got to know that she is lesbian until she told me so and kind of proposed. I feel that was the right approach and what Goa girl did was absolutely wrong. It was completely against my will.

IMG_0589

Not only me later she made other girls also uncomfortable with her behavior and hence girls were running away from her. Few guys who learned about her sexuality have end up making fun of her which l didn’t liked but l what could l have done about it? Honestly I could have accept her as a friend without any fear but as she did not make me feel comfortable l instead chose to be away, in fact I even ignored conversation with her. I felt really sorry but couldn’t do anything. Same thing can happen to every homo out there and you might end up losing good friends who might accept you the way you are and support you in a way. Yes, there are broad-minded people who are open to discuss these things positively. Even I am not anti-lesbian or gay but in my opinion they should first not fear to accept who they are and should not do wrong things like Goa girl did.

So don’t fear accept yourself and tell the world in a right way…………

So Far….

IMG_0898I have so much to write about my adventure travel journey so far and the way my thought process is running it reminded me about the wild horses on green open land as the thoughts are running wild like them in my head. It was so much fun watching them running while l was trekking through Nandadevi jungle located at Uttarakhand Garwhal Region.

First thing first it’s been eight months l have started travelling and l feel it’s the best thing what l have ever done to myself. Today when l see at myself in mirror after waking up, l have so much in my mind and its clearly not target and deadlines instead my mind is full with beautiful pictures of the places l have visited till date.

I have spent most of my young years in corporate. You know carrier and all….. l hardly used to get time for myself as after work  you have family to take care, you have social life to maintain and health to deal with. For me it all started with poor health and hospitality of hospital😉. Let me say it precisely poor physical and psychological health. Yeah…yeah….please don’t disagree we all have that little psychological problem when we are reaching thirty. it’s not  easy as everyone starts asking you about marriage when you are yet to figure out where your life is going. And me l really don’t know what my relationship status looks like. Well like you all l have also seen the trend to write “Relationship Status – complicated” thanks to Facebook! When it comes to my case are yaar it’s genuinely complicated as l either had crush on guy who is younger than me or who is old and married to another women (Hot, settled and experienced you know) Ahhhh haaaa don’t judge me. Let’s not get distracted stick to the topic!

IMG_0555So three days in ICU and that hospitality of hospital gave me lot of time to think about myself like my job, my life, my family, and somewhere in between all this my happiness which wasn’t there since many years. And you know what l realized is l spent all my important beautiful young year’s only slogging to get proper Excel report, writing proper emails, getting proper PPT’s ready, finding my way through corporate politics and yeah issuing different letters including termination letter (So painful) to employees. Being in Human Resource that inhuman dirty job is the part of your profession.  First thing what l did when l got back home from hospital is l quit my job and declared it to my family that l will think about starting my own business without even thinking what business l will do however my family supported me and that was the good part. I know…l know…many will call me crazy and stupid but it’s absolutely okay with me as l am happy this way.

One fine day after all this l decided to start my business which will be into “Adventure Tourism” and then l started taking groups on adventure trips. My first trip l took to Goa which is one amazing place of freedom, nice beaches, amazing drinks, love, lust and not to forget water sport adventure and yes adventure was my reason to be at this place. I had so much fun performing scuba diving, parasailing and various water sports rides. My next adventure was at Sandhan valley it was breathtaking the valley is completely filled with big big rocks. I went down 600 meter in valley with the help of rappelling and started trekking towards the end of valley it’s like jumping from one rock to another.  Next trip was at Panchgani overnight camping in strawberry farms. After that l went to Karnataka border and did river rafting in Kala River, also did river crossing via zip line and kayaking. I enjoyed trailing and cycling through Karnataka Jungle. After Karnataka l decided to spend my settlement amount at some amazing place which l always thought of visiting since my first job at Club Mahindra and the place was Uttarakhand where l went on solo road trip. I loved being surrounded by mountains, rivers, greenery and temples. It was really heaven “Gods own place”.  When l got back from Uttarakhand l already had planned my next trip to Gujarat it was partially a business trip though. And now l am exploring Sahyadri range of Maharasthra its teaching me about Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Getting to know so many fascinating stories of Shivaji Maharaj empire which makes my blood warm.IMG_1274

While l was continuously on wheels l made so many new friends those who are travel freak, those who love adventure, those who love mountains, those who love trekking, those who love greenery and those who love photography and few of them are from different countries as well. I realized that l love trekking and it’s also making me physically and psychologically strong. I have become stronger than l was, l have become peaceful than l was, my patience level have increased like anything and l have also started sorting my life which was literally scattered here and there.

Now l love my life now. I have time for myself, my family, my friends and l am also pursuing my passion. I don’t make so much money like what l used to make when l was working with corporate but it doesn’t matter as now what l feel is, it was all materialistic things l was running behind and what l have now is so much more than just materialistic thing.

Loving yourself isn’t selfish it’s necessaryIMG_0845

Water and Aerial Adventure

IMG_2506In my previous blog l wrote about land based adventure sport and now providing details of ware and Ariel adventure sports. Also giving information about government recognized institutions in India where the Adventure sports courses are conducted.

Water adventure Sport:

Scuba Diving – Scuba diving is a form of underwater diving. A diver uses a scuba set (self-contained under water apparatus) to breath underwater. Divers use equipment’s such as life jacket, breathing gas cylinders, swim fins which will be attached to feet’s and stay under water for relatively longer time.

You can experience beautiful marine life-like numerous small, big, colorful and different shape fishes. You will also get to experience beauty of underwater flora and fauna which is completely different from what you see normally. By performing scuba diving you also get to touch sea or ocean floor. Andaman, Tarkarli and Goa are the places in India where you can perform scuba diving.

Water Rafting – An inflatable raft is used to navigate a river or water bodies. This activity is usually done on rough water, in order to thrill and excite the raft passengers. One needs special skills while rafting through rapids and slopes in water bodies. Himachal Pradesh is famous destination for water rafting.

Ariel Adventure Sports:Parachuting or sky diving are the most popular Ariel adventure sports

Parachuting or sky diving – Parachuting or sky diving includes exiting an aircraft and returning to gravity with the aid of gravity while using a parachute to slow down during the last part of descent.

Paragliding – Unlike sky diving, paragliding is an adventure sport of flying para gliders. The pilot sits in harness, in lightweight glider aircraft and flies using the pressure of air.

You can choose your type of adventure thrill and an undiluted joy by participating in any of these adventure sports to your heart’s content but there are few cautions one must pay attention too. Along with your physical and mental endurance, knowledge of technical equipment’s is equally important as achieving these feats is almost impossible without their aid. One has to strictly follow the instructions given by guides or outdoor instructors.

You should be well aware of the probable dangers the activity may pose. Adventure and risk go hand in hand but the risk factor can be minimized considerably by taking proper training from the experts. There is a subtle difference between risk and calculated risk-one should understand that and just GO FOR IT!!!

Land Based Adventure Sports

IMG_1808Hello again, it’s been long time since I wrote first bog related to adventure sports as l was way to Melghat for rehabilitation process l could not post 2nd blog.  In my previous blog I have written about introduction to adventure sport and mentioned that the detailed description will be given in upcoming blog.

So here I am….writing details about Land Based Adventure Sports which will help you understand different types of land based adventure sports.

Mountaineering : Mountaineering is very distinct and elaborate in its nature from trekking. It is said that trekking stops at the base and after that mountaineering takes over. Mountaineering can be categorized into specifications that address different aspects of mountain.

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

  1. Rock craft – includes the knowledge of various rock climbing and rappelling techniques.
  2. Snow craft – includes the knowledge of various ascending and descending techniques in snow bound region.
  3. Ice craft – includes the knowledge of travelling through ice-bound region.

CavingCaving is one of the least known adventure sport which includes exploring wild caves. The challenge in caving includes negotiations of pitches, squeezes and water. During caving, climbing and crawling are the most important activities. Extensive use of ropes is made for safe negotiation of steep or sleeper passage. Speleology is a scientific study of cave systems. Hence knowledge of caving becomes absolutely necessarily for speleologist. Cave water diving is also specialized sport which needs totally different skills from diving in fresh and sea water.

Meghalaya and Mizoram are the two north-eastern states in India which are very popular for this adventure sport. Being relatively neglected adventure sport, caving has great potential as many caves system still remain unexplored.IMG_3582

Rappelling : Rappelling is a technique of descending a rock face using rope and little other mountaineering equipment. Calibers prefer to use this technique when life or scope is too steep and dangerous to descend without protection. A technical name for rappelling is “Abseiling”

All the major Mountaineering institution provide training in rappelling as one of the most popular adventure sports and relatively less risky, if performed with adequate safety measures.

Skiing : is also considered as a sub skill in mountaineering. Skiing is recreational activity and competitive adventure sport in which participants attached skis to shoes on the feet and uses them to slide or travel on top of snow. One needs an excellent control while travelling on snow using skis. Strength of your thigh muscle plays an important role in this adventure sport. Apart from being an adventure sports, skiing has also been used for military purposes. Skiing is one of the most well-known sports featured in winter Olympic Games.

Apart from mountaineering in hilly terrain Cycling and Biking are also very well-known and popular adventure sports. Bungee jumping, tight rope walking are the adventure sports in which extensive use of rope is made.IMG_2952

I hope this information is helpful for you as l tried to give all details. Follow me for next blog in which l will write about water and Ariel adventure sports , will also give the information about institutions where the training provided for these Adventure Sports.

Keep the fire burning within you…….
